Run/Walk For a Cause

Proceeds from these not-for-profit events support the Medical Fitness & Fit for Life Program Scholarship Fund. The mission behind the scholarship fund is to provide equal opportunity to health and wellness programming to everyone in the community regardless of socioeconomic status. This fund helps countless members of the community better their health when they wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it. Additionally, race proceeds also benefit local youth programming in the community and the local food pantries. These races are all about helping build a strong healthy community one runner (or walker) at a time!

Lake Placid Classic

On October 07, 2023, the 52nd Annual Lake Placid Classic Half Marathon and 10K will be held.  This event is one of the only not-for-profit running/walking events in the Lake Placid region.  The goal of the event is to raise funds for local youth organizations and support local wellness scholarships. Over the past several years, it has become a vital fundraiser for the local Connecting Youth and Community (CYC) of Lake Placid and Wilmington, a not-for-profit, youth development organization made up of local community leaders, youth, parents, and business partners.  Their mission is to promote positive youth development.
