Downhill Ski Strengthening & Conditioning

October 18 - November 22, Tuesdays & Thursdays 5 - 6 p.m.

Strengthen the major muscle of the lower body and core to handle the physical stresses of Downhill Skiing. Exercises to focus on strength, balance, core stability, and endurance to help make the first day of skiing enjoyable one.

Fit through the Holidays

November 29 - December 22, Tuesdays & Thursdays 5 - 6 p.m

$80 members/$144 nonmembers

Keep yourself fit and active through the Holidays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This program will combine full-body strengthening exercises focusing on large muscle groups to increase calorie burn and functional strength and lean mass. We will also work on metabolic conditioning to increase cardiovascular health and calorie-burning efficiency.

Energy Exploration, A Chakra Workshop

February 8 - March 29, Wednesdays at 4 p.m.

The Chakras are comprised of seven main energy centers. Each class will focus on a different Chakra. Through discussion, breath-work, meditation and asana (yoga poses) we will explore energy in our minds & bodies. The goals of the program are to increase groundedness and adaptability, to increase the ability to process experiences and emotion, to regain the right to our feelings, to gain confidence to advocate for our needs and to speak our truths. Additionally, we will develop a deeper understanding of others' behavior and how to navigate our interactions with compassion.

The sport of golf requires a great amount of mobility, strength, and balance to allow for the precision needed to strike a golf ball. This program will address mobility and balance, along with strength and power to get you prepared for a long and successful golf season.

Learn to Swim Efficiently

March 14 - April 6, Tuesdays/Thursdays at 6 p.m.

This program is for the struggling adult beginner. The focus will be improving the front crawl with specific drills.

 

Requirements: the ability to swim 100-yards of the front crawl with rhythmic breathing.

Mechanisms of Mobility

May 1-29, Mondays at 3 p.m.

Mobility is the base in which everything else has to be built off. This 5-week program is intended to improve overall mobility of the shoulder, thoracic (upper and middle) spine, hips and ankle; all critical joints in everyday movement. The program will take place every Monday from 3-4 p.m. in the group fitness studio and will run from May 1 through May 29.

Pickle Ball / Tennis Prep

Expanding Your Skills in Swimming

May 2-25, Tuesdays/Thursdays at 6 p.m.

This program is for intermediate to advanced swimmers who want to learn other strokes besides the front crawl. Each class will include a moderate workout.

Requirement: The ability to swim at least 200 yards continuously using rhythmic breathing.

Meditation & Breath Work Workshop

This program will guide participants to develop a personal meditation practice. We are all unique and so we will explore different forms of meditation: silent, guided, trataka, and mantra to find the form that resonates for practitioners to cultivate a peaceful mind. The Brahma Muhurta, the 45 minutes before sunrise, is the most optimal time of the day for meditation,. As such, we will meet at 6:30 am!

Advanced Stroke Improvement Workout

June 6 - June 29, Tuesdays/Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Advance your swim stroke in this 4-week program. This program is designed to take more advanced swimmers to an even higher level. Each class will include a 15-minute stroke analysis with a 45-minute challenging workout.

 

Requirements: the ability to swim 300-yards front crawl with continuously rhythmic breathing.

FAST: Functional Agility & Speed Training

Half-Marathon Training Program

July 5 - October 7, Day/Time TBD

Train for a Half-Marathon with support and accountability. Once a week group runs, and 2x on your own cross training workouts/runs. Registration includes entry to the Lake Placid Classic ($65 value). Must be able to run 3 miles, preferably have done at least one 5K or 10K race before.

Next Level

July 10 - August 28, Mondays at 5 p.m.

Take your cardio to the next level with 12 weeks of speed and efficiency focus with Coach Anna. This program will assess each participant individually, but also be built as a group program as we work alongside each other to increase our cardio capacity and pace. This work won't just help you in running, it will help you in biking, hiking, swimming - any cardio demanding activity. Workouts will be held weekly on Tuesday from 5-5:45 p.m. at the Lake Placid Track. Let's boost that heart health! no prerequisites required.

Matter of Balance

August 4 - September 29, Fridays at 11 a.m.

This eight week program is designed to effectively manage concerns about falling, as well as reduce their fear, along with increasing the activity levels, of older adults. Members will learn the importance of various strength agility and balance exercises and the role each plays in preventing falls. The program will take place Fridays at 11 a.m. in the group fitness studio from August 4 through October 1.

5k to 10k Training Group

August 8 - October 7, Tuesdays at 5 p.m.

Once a week group runs and 2x on your own runs. Whether it's your first 10K or not, train with a group to get ready for the Lake Placid Classic. Prerequisite: must be able to run 2 miles, preferably have done at least one 5K race before. Includes entry to the race ($65 value).
