Ashaya Yoga (AH-shy-ah) is the path of radical affirmation. It’s learning how to say “yes” to life and abide in the truth that everything in life is for your awakening. Ashaya Yoga builds strength, balance, and flexibility, and heals chronic pain. More than a “yoga workout,” Ashaya Yoga supports the harmony and interconnection of body, mind, heart, and spirit, that makes you strong, confident, peaceful, openhearted, and ready to engage with life wholeheartedly. Off the mat, Ashaya Yoga inspires the best version of you and develops your capacity to meet life’s challenges with poise and grace. Ashaya is a Sanskrit word that means: Abode of the Heart.
Lexi believes the purpose of yoga is to awaken to the divine grace and beauty that resides in all of us.
As a registered, certified Yoga Teacher now living in Essex and studying with Todd Norian, her classes are a “secret sauce” of heart, mind, body, and spirit, guided by Tantric principles. BARBELL BURN WITH SHEILA DECKER
Starting in December. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Get ready to burn calories long after your workout is done! This circuit style class utilizes a classic piece of gym equipment that can be intimidating for some: the barbell.
For some, the barbell may conjure up images of circus strongmen throwing large amounts of weight around but this simple piece of equipment can be used for hundreds of exercises with a variety of different outcomes in mind. By using the barbell for external resistance we can increase strength and muscle mass, leading to increased caloric burn at rest. This is why resistance training is ideal for weight-loss.
Every class will integrate different movements for a total body strength workout that will have you feeling the burn and breaking through training plateaus! Learn new movements in a supervised setting and build confidence in working with the bar. Expand your exercise library through the exploration of unique and challenging movements in addition to some classic barbell movements such as the squat and overhead press.
This class will give you the knowledge you need to incorporate this versatile piece of equipment into your fitness routine. We have a variety of weighted barbells to accommodate everyone, so whether you have never had a barbell in your hands or you feel at home under the bar this will be sure to challenge you at any level!
